Dr. Zelasko’s Soft Tissue Therapy with Instruments Featured in Chiropractic Economics Magazine

Extremity-related conditions prime for instrument use

For a patient’s extremity-related issues, “the instrument is best used to treat adhesion and tendinosis,” Dr. Zelasko told Christina DeBusk in the Chiropractic Economics article, Chiropractic instruments for soft tissue work.

Dr. Zelasko explained that he uses instruments to treat adhesion in the:

  • Forearms
  • Hands
  • Knees
  • Anterior legs
  • Ankles
  • Plantar aspect of the foot
  • Nuchal ligament and supraspinous ligament in the spine

Back pain is the most common type of pain that chiropractors treat but many times, patients have issues with the soft tissue areas of their extremities.

Dr. Zelasko believes that soft tissue therapy is best performed with the aid of instruments.

“When adhesion is broken down, increased flexibility is immediate,” said Dr. Zelasko, with the added benefit that “pain reduction is immediate too.”
