We’ve all heard of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome before. We may even know someone who has had surgery to try and repair it. But does this syndrome really call for Surgery? We think not!

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is categorized as pain, tingling, and/or numbness in the wrist, palm of the hand, and thumb, 2nd, and 3rd fingers. A true carpal tunnel syndrome does not affect the pinky finger or the half of the ring finger that would touch the pinky finger. If you feel any of the symptoms above in the palm side of the thumb, 2nd, or 3rd fingers of your hand, then you may be suffering from this common condition.

These symptoms are the direct result of compression on the median nerve that innervates this part of your hand and forearm. A true carpal tunnel syndrome is the compression of the median nerve as it passes through the palm side of the wrist. Surgery works well at relieving this problem.

However, the same symptoms can be caused by compression or entrapment of the median nerve anywhere in the neck, shoulder, elbow, and/or forearm. In these cases, surgery at the carpal tunnel will not fix the problem.

The condition that’s causing you pain can be complicated. The nerve could be compressed at multiple places as it travels from your neck to your hand, as stated above. The good news is we have a specific system to identify all of these issues and the best and fastest treatments to fix them!
